Our Focus on The Global Majority

Our supervisor training and certifications goes beyond basic certification. We focus on equipping mental health professionals with the tools to serve The Global Majority, which includes Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Asian communities, as well as other marginalized groups. We recognize that many individuals within the Global Majority also hold intersecting identities, such as LGBTQ+ members, religious minorities, and those living with disabilities. While these communities are our primary focus, we welcome allies—those committed to cultural humility and equity—who share our mission to dismantle systemic oppression and uplift marginalized populations. Our courses are designed to promote cultural humility, ethical practices, and provide the skills needed to support these communities with compassion, integrity, and expertise.

Testimonials

Dr. Pickens LPC 40-hour course exceeded my expectations for the course. Dr. Pickens’ shared real time examples, resources, videos, handouts that are helpful forms that will help me build my resources and knowledge as an LPC-S.

We need more courses like this taught by woman of color to push back on how the field has not supported BIPOC therapists or clients. I am SO glad I didn’t end up having to take a supervisor course that was white washed which was going to be very likely since there are seemingly only 2 or 3 courses that consistently come up when you google courses. I loved the way that you wove in the social justice and need for decolonized spaces and affirmed our experiences without necessarily lecturing.

Thank you Dr. Megan, this was a thorough training to not only educate us on becoming a supervisor, but it was very thought provoking in all areas and aspects of being a supervisor and the parameters of group practice to support being a group practice manager and supervisor.

I would highly recommend this course. I enjoyed each section of the virtual training. However, I loved the interactive face to face time together. It was enjoyable and knowledge. It made me think of many aspects of becoming a license professional counselor supervisor. Thank you for your time and creating a course.

It was a pleasure to meet and train with you, Megan! You kept me engaged the whole day….you were highly aware of the level of engagement in all of us. You brought your own experiences in trainings to design this one and I found that very refreshing. It made me feel appreciated, something I’m not sure I’ve felt as a participant before. I really enjoyed your style of interacting throughout. You had me before I realized it. As much as I complained about not being able to Google answers I truly enjoyed how much you made me think on Friday.
