About MBHPN and Vision 2025
The Multicultural Behavioral Health Provider Network (MBHPN) was founded with the mission to empower Black behavioral health professionals and practitioners of color. Since its inception in 2013, MBHPN has been committed to providing a supportive and affirming space for growth, collaboration, and advocacy. We aim to connect Black and Brown therapists with clients who specifically seek culturally competent care, filling a critical gap in the mental health space.
In 2020, Dr. Megan Pickens took on the leadership of MBHPN, expanding its reach and influence while focusing on issues such as social justice, multicultural competence, and advocacy for Black lives. As MBHPN moves into Vision 2025, we are committed to continuing our mission by fostering an environment of healing, community, and professional growth.
Our vision for 2025 includes:
- Increasing access to quality mental health care by supporting Black and Brown therapists in their professional development.
- Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the mental health profession, advocating for systems that center marginalized voices.
- Creating spaces for community engagement and collaboration among behavioral health professionals and the communities they serve.
- Building a network that encourages growth, accountability, and empowerment, both personally and professionally.
Join us as we chart the course for the future and align our goals to continue making a lasting impact on the profession and in the lives of those we serve. Our work is just beginning, and Vision 2025 will be a milestone year for MBHPN as we focus on creating opportunities for innovation, networking, and advocacy in the mental health field.
